Parents, my love letter today is for you

Wow, what a year, right??

Dear Parents,

This love letter is for you.   Parenting was already the toughest job BEFORE the pandemic.

But then the village shut down, and your support systems went out the window.

What have you accomplished this year?

1.) You taught at home.

2.) You made birthdays special.

3.) You found new holiday traditions.

4.) You created new vacation plans.

5.) You found new ways to calm your own fears.

6.) You reached out.

7.) You created new family traditions.

8.) You created a nest of safety and security for your kids, as best you could.

9.) You talked to your kids about a deadly pandemic.

10.) You discovered your own risk tolerance, then rediscovered it, and rediscovered it again.

11.) You worried about family members who became sick.  Or might become sick.

12.) You know people who have become sick, or died.  And you grieved.

Parents, you are the hardest working, most amazing people I know.

I know you, I love you, I am you.

You are amazing.  You are inspirational.  Your kids have been watching, and they know it too.

Congratulations on making it through this last year.

Sending lots of love.  XOXO
