A MORE PEACEFUL HOME BEGINS HERE

FAQs

Got a question? We’re here to help.

  • What is Parent Coaching?

Parent coaching is a supportive process to help you achieve the goals and dreams you have for your family.

Some of the goals I frequently help parents with include: stopping power struggles; decreasing tantrums; improving cooperation and listening; sibling rivalry/fighting; helping parents get on the same page; helping parents support one another during challenges; helping parents stop

    yelling and feel calmer.

I also frequently help parents coach their children, especially on challenges related to

    sensitivity. This includes: separation anxiety; school avoidance/refusal; bedtime struggles;

meltdowns/tantrums; fear of trying new things.

Parent coaching starts with feeling good about yourself! We are all most effective when we build on our natural strengths and successes. You are not broken, and your child is not broken. You just need more support!

  • How long until I feel better and see results?

Families often feel better and see improvements within the first week! That doesn’t mean that all challenges are solved. But it does mean that you start to feel more hopeful, empowered and successful. We take this momentum and build on it to create more and more progress!

  • What is your parenting philosophy?

I believe that peaceful homes—based on cooperation and mutual respect—are possible. We don’t need to use punishments, rewards, or threats. We achieve this goal through respectful, direct communication, lots of humour, and humility. I don’t have all the answers. But then, neither does anyone else. The best solutions are found within the context of your relationship with your child.

  • Is this absurdly expensive?

Parent Coaching is an investment of time and money. But I believe it’s worth every penny! When we start working together, I invite you to work with me for 5 weeks. The investment for that is $1000. At the end of the 5 weeks, I will invite you to continue our work with an additional 5 week commitment.

I have yet to have a family feel the value was not worth the investment.

  • How long will it take?

When we start working together, I invite parents to work together for 5 weeks. We can generally make huge improvments in the dynamics of your home in this timeframe. However, some larger changes will require a longer investment of time. Therefore, many families choose to work together for 10 weeks total. This is usually an excellent amount of time to make lasting change.

I also have some families that have worked with me on and off over the space of years, coming back to coaching as their families changes and new challenges arise.
